Sodexo Live! is seeking dependable, detail-oriented Utility Worker / Porter team members to support back-of-house operations and help deliver an elevated guest experience in one of the nation’s busiest airports.
This role is essential to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and operational excellence throughout kitchen, dish, storage, and service support areas. What You’ll Do:
As a Utility Worker/Porter, you will support kitchen and facility operations by ensuring cleanliness, organization, and sanitation throughout food preparation and service areas.
You will play a key role in maintaining a seamless lounge operation by:
- Supporting culinary and service teams with clean, sanitized dishware, cookware, and utensils.
- Maintaining organized, hygienic kitchen, dish, and storage areas.
- Assisting in keeping equipment and workspaces safe, clean, and fully operational.
- Contributing to smooth, uninterrupted lounge operations that support an elevated guest experience.
- Ensuring all sanitation and food safety standards are consistently upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash dishes, cookware, glassware, and utensils by hand or using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Clean and sanitize worktables, walls, refrigerators, storage areas, and kitchen equipment.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and service areas.
- Remove trash, recyclables, and waste to designated disposal areas.
- Clean equipment using approved chemicals to maintain sanitary standards.
- Restock kitchen and sanitation supplies, including soap, paper towels, cleaning products, and service materials.
- Assist with transporting, storing, and organizing supplies throughout the lounge.
- Support basic setup and breakdown of kitchen and service areas as needed.
- Maintain compliance with HACCP, OSHA, and Sodexo safety procedures.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines.
- Attend required trainings related to safety, sanitation, and operational procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on business and operational needs.
What We’re Looking For:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Previous hospitality, food service, airline lounge, or janitorial experience is a plus, but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization.
- Basic understanding of sanitation procedures and food safety practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Positive attitude with a dependable, service-focused mindset.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Reliable attendance and ability to report for scheduled shifts on time.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often exceeding 8 hours per shift.
- Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Comfortable working in hot, cold, wet, and fast-paced environments.
- Ability to work in moderate to loud operational settings.
Requirements:
- Must successfully pass a TSA background screening and drug screening.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Open availability, including weekends and holidays, strongly preferred.
